I'm a software engineer living in Idaho. I’ve worked as a programmer in video game development with a secondary focus on design work. I have 8 years experience with Unreal, and used Unity for many years prior to developing in Unreal. The earliest part of my career was developing games for mobile phones, mostly iPhones. Most of my work has fallen under gameplay programming and UI programming. I’ve worked independently, on PC/Console titles, VR titles, as a contractor, and on smartphone platforms. While my career has been as a programmer, I've had a strong interest in art and design, and tend to work across those disciplinary boundaries and have also done design work at many of my jobs. I think a lot about how people interact with software, and how to write software for the humans that use it.
I’ve been curious to branch outside of game development and start a new career. I have a strong interest in engineering and biomedicine. Scientific programming, simulation work, navigation and space exploration/industry in particular have me very interested. When the time comes I hope to apply the skills I’ve acquired in my game development career to the more tangible problems of the material world.
